Once you’re done customizing your character, you’ll find yourself in the Tsukuba circuit for a tutorial. Still, we think that RIDE 4 could do better with racial diversity in its next DLC. There are five “faces” per gender, but we wouldn’t say the faces are that important since they’re always wearing helmets anyway. One improvement in RIDE 4 is that it offers a range of choices for male and female racers. The first thing you’re tasked to do is creating your avatar. It has the addictive effect that quality games have - you’ll easily find yourself completing lap after lap. Even though the game begins slow, players can begin to feel how challenging the game actually is, especially for first- time players. RIDE 4 delivers crystal-clear visuals, challenging career modes, and improved artificial intelligence, creating one of the finest motorcycle games of the year. It isn’t as time- consuming as the former’s tests, but Milestone offers a similar experience.

It's tough and unforgiving, and strictly for veterans of this series or real motorcycle enthusiasts. Even at the easiest difficulty setting, and with all the assists engaged, this never feels like an arcade game, or even something arcade-esque. What hasn't changed, though, is that this is still just for serious riders. Though what's more interesting is the new "Endurance" mode, during which the races last hours and involve pit stops. It also, as usual, has a ton of real tracks, riders, and events - more than enough to keep you occupied until its sequel comes out.Īs for what's different in this installment, well, the career mode now features three lengthy sections - "European League," "Asian League," and "American League" - as well as an improved weather system that can add some real challenge.
Not only can you tweak the parameters of your bike like a real mechanic, but you can also customize the controls in a myriad of ways, and even (no joke) adjust the volume of the wind as it whips past you.
